Information about handling your data.

General

Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the data protection provisions of the Confederation (Data Protection Act, DSG) and in compliance with the GDPR, every person has the right to protection of their privacy and protection against abuse of their personal data. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations as well as this privacy policy.

Data Storage in Switzerland

We place great importance on keeping your data secure. Our web servers as well as all databases are located exclusively in Switzerland. Your data does not leave the Swiss legal area unless this is technically necessary for functionality (e.g. Stripe payments, see below) and explicitly indicated.

Matomo (Self-Hosted)

This website uses Matomo, an open-source software for statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo is installed on our own servers in Switzerland. No data is passed on to third parties (as with Google Analytics).

We have configured Matomo so that IP addresses are automatically anonymized (IP masking). This makes it impossible to identify your individual person. The collected data is only used to improve our website and user experience.

External Services / CDNs

To make our website faster and visually appealing, we use so-called Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and external fonts. Due to technical requirements, your IP address is transmitted to the respective provider to deliver the content (scripts, fonts) to your browser.

  • Tailwind CSS (cdn.tailwindcss.com): For the website design.
  • Unpkg / jsDelivr (unpkg.com): For icons (Lucide) and interactive functions (Alpine.js).
  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com): For font display.

Cookies & Local Storage

Our website uses so-called "Cookies" and your browser's local storage (LocalStorage). These are small text files that are stored on your device.

  • Technically necessary cookies (Session): We use a session cookie (`PHPSESSID`) to identify you after login and enable access to protected areas. This cookie is usually deleted when you close your browser.
  • Analytics cookies (Matomo): As described above, Matomo uses cookies to recognize returning visitors (anonymized).
  • LocalStorage (Settings): We store your personal settings (e.g. Dark Mode / Light Mode, layout preferences, onboarding tour status) directly in your browser's "LocalStorage". This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers for profiling.

Server Log Files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

Artificial Intelligence & Automation

To provide our core functions (resume analysis, reading job postings), we use third-party services. Data is transmitted to these services.

  • Google Gemini (Google AI): We use Google's API (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) to analyze your resume and job posting and generate optimization suggestions. The text of your resume is transmitted to Google. We use the Enterprise interface, where according to Google, your data is generally not used to train the models.
  • Jina AI: When you import a job posting via URL, we use the Jina AI service (Jina AI GmbH) to read the website text ("User-to-Content" proxy). The URL is transmitted to Jina AI. Your personal data is not transmitted, unless it is publicly visible on the target URL.

Your Rights

You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of data processing as well as the right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data. For this and other questions regarding personal data, you can contact the address given in the imprint at any time.
